About Us
Made up from middle schools in the Manitowoc, Calumet, and Sheboygan counties, this group participates in middle school-level forensics competitions each year. The competitions themselves are not driven by students competing directly with each other, but rather, each student is judged individually against a criteria. Students are graded on their performances and awarded a distinction (gold/silver/bronze) from a judge.
Beyond the competitions, students practice and interact with other students that share similar interests. It is an opportunity for students to become aware of pieces of writings that they may not have looked at before and interact with students from different grades or schools that they may not have interacted with otherwise.

Why Forensics?
"Forensics, in the formal sense of the word, refers to public debates or formal argumentation suitable for a court of law.
For our purposes, forensics at the middle school level provides an opportunity for students to be involved in various forms of public speaking whether it be prose, poetry, storytelling, demonstration speech, readers theatre or acting.
In addition to the enhancement of public speaking skills, students sharpen their research skills, writing skills, and their ability to work in cooperation with others through discussion and acting.
The ultimate intent of Forensic events is to provide students with an opportunity to develop confidence in their ability to communicate ideas and points of view."
